More than a cookie-cutter American rock festival, Outside Lands takes advantage of its setting in Golden Gate Park by pointedly celebrating all that is the Bay Area.

As many of you know Outside Lands has become a staple of the summer music festival season. Not only is does it bring some of the biggest musical artists in the country but also features "Wine Lands" which carries over 30 of the regions wineries and over 50 restaurants from all over Northern Cali. Outside Lands is held in San Francisco's beautiful Golden Gate Park and is set for August 10-12 this year. This year San Francisco's own Metallica headlines Outside Lands and is joined by arguably the most decorated lineup in its five year history.

In a recent interview with METALLICA basist Robert Trujillo GulfNews.com reveals METALLICA is working on a new album. Excerots from the GulfNews.com interview: "In terms of new music, your last album, "Death Magnetic", was out in 2008, and you have been touring heavily with that. Are you currently working on new material? Trujillo_ We've been busy writing and recording. We've got a couple of new songs we have been working on the past couple of weeks. The writing process for the new METALLICA album has begun. ..."
